“ ‘Shhhhhhhhh!’ The kids whispered in silence, intrigued of what will happen next. The morning started with Kids Praise and Worship but suddenly things are taking another shape. The music stops to play and silence feels the place. Someone calls out, “Give me space, I think its time to pray.” ‘Bwahahahahahahaha!’ A scary laughter filled the place. Mr. Nightmare and his minion had invaded. He seemed to be disgusted by the beauty of each land and the hardworking spirit of the people living there. Everyone could sense and feel the love, happiness, and joy of the citizens of this beautiful world before the attack. The citizens had big dreams and worked hard everyday making their dreams into reality. ‘Attack!!!’ Mr. Nightmare commanded and all at once his minion worked tirelessly to defeat the citizens. Negative thoughts, laziness, doubt and fear were the instruments he used to defeat the citizens. Hope was lost. The beautiful Dreamworld turned into Nightmare Land. But then, a bright light shone from above and there someone stands. “I am Dream Master,” a voice called out. “I have heard all your cries and I can’t stand to watch and see you living in agony. Remember you can always call on me anytime you need help. I’ll always be there for you. Stay focused on the goal and the prize plus the rewards you will get when you finish this race” (Philippians 3: 13-14).” Now that was just a glimpse of the Play, entitled “Journey to Dreamworld”. It was the highlight in the morning of the Kids For Christ Conference last November 28, 2009 at Contemplative Heart Evangelizers of Christ Retreat Center. That afternoon the kids enjoyed visiting the different stations of Antopia, Elephantasia and Eagle’s Peak where they had different activities and competitions. From drawing their Big dreams, to playing Football, to apple eating contest and bouncing in the Jumping Castle. The program ended with the Kids showing off their talents during the “30 SECONDS OF FAME” show. We thank our Daddy in heaven for making the day a success. It had been along journey. We stand firm and proclaim that the day was a blessing. Thanks to the Singles For Christ Volunteers and our ear Parents for allowing and trusting us with their kids. Until next time, it’s time to sleep and DREAM BIG! (Lawrence Njoroge, KFC Volunteer)
