CFC Kenya celebrates First Fruits! PDF Print E-mail

First Fruits

Couples For Christ Kenya and its Family Ministries gathered for the First Fruits Assembly last February 7, 2010 (Sunday) at the CCU Hall, University of Nairobi. Around 150 members all over Nairobi came to be inspired on that day. The first CFC Major event of the year started at 9:00 am with an Opening Worship led by CFC Brother Emmanuel Muinde which was followed by a talk about First Fruits by the CFC National Director, Uncle Vincent Anami. At the same time, the CFC Kids For Christ gathered for their own First Fruits activity. Everyone then merged during the First Fruits Offering as Brother Nic Escalona, Jr. exhorted each individual and families to present their "First Fruits" to the altar. It was then followed by the Celebration of the Mass by Father Alphonse Ouma. The assembly ended by 1:00 pm as everyone went home feeling more blessed than ever.

CFC Kenya Family Day 09: FORWARD IN CHRIST TO FULLNESS IN CHRIST PDF Print E-mail
 Entrance Hymn

It was a sunny Sunday on December 6, 2009 of Nairobi City. CFC members together with their families and the rest of the CFC Family Ministries gathered to thank the Lord for the blessings of 2009. The day started with the Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Vincent Wambugu (Secretary General – Kenya Episcopal Commission).Everybody was able to truly reflect on how Christ is calling us when Fr. Wambugu said, “Christ works thru contradiction, and us gathered as families is a contradiction to how most families are living their lives separately today.” And before the mass concluded, 30 new SFC members were prayed over and welcomed by the community. Around 350 members attended and enjoyed the day filled with games, showing off of talents, and praise & worship. The CFC 2010 theme was then explained by Bro. David Makonnen.

Truly, 2009 was a moving FORWARD IN CHRIST for CFC Keny. The year 2010, we gear up in our work of evangelization and deepening our relationship with Christ. We all declare that we desire our FULLNESS OF LIFE IN CHRIST. (Nic Escalona Jr.)

My Dream Big Conference Experience PDF Print E-mail

Mitchelle

My name is Mitchelle and I am 8 years old. I am a KFC Member of Basilica Parish.I like attending the Kids Camp and the Kids Conferences.

I enjoyed the Dream Big Kids Conference held on 28th November, 2009. I participated in most activities that were held. And I liked the show about the Dream World. I learned how to handle myself to others. I enjoyed the music specially the song, "Never Gonna Stop Loving You." I wish the conference could be held often because I feel once a year is not enough.

“ ‘Shhhhhhhhh!’ The kids whispered in silence, intrigued of what will happen next. The morning started with Kids Praise and Worship but suddenly things are taking another shape. The music stops to play and silence feels the place.

Someone calls out, “Give me space, I think its time to pray.”

‘Bwahahahahahahaha!’ A scary laughter filled the place. Mr. Nightmare and his minion had invaded. He seemed to be disgusted by the beauty of each land and the hardworking spirit of the people living there.

Everyone could sense and feel the love, happiness, and joy of the citizens of this beautiful world before the attack. The citizens had big dreams and worked hard everyday making their dreams into reality.

‘Attack!!!’ Mr. Nightmare commanded and all at once his minion worked tirelessly to defeat the citizens. Negative thoughts, laziness, doubt and fear were the instruments he used to defeat the citizens. Hope was lost. The beautiful Dreamworld turned into Nightmare Land.

But then, a bright light shone from above and there someone stands.

“I am Dream Master,” a voice called out. “I have heard all your cries and I can’t stand to watch and see you living in agony. Remember you can always call on me anytime you need help. I’ll always be there for you. Stay focused on the goal and the prize plus the rewards you will get when you finish this race” (Philippians 3: 13-14).”

Now that was just a glimpse of the Play, entitled “Journey to Dreamworld”. It was the highlight in the morning of the Kids For Christ Conference last November 28, 2009 at Contemplative Heart Evangelizers of Christ Retreat Center.

That afternoon the kids enjoyed visiting the different stations of Antopia, Elephantasia and Eagle’s Peak where they had different activities and competitions. From drawing their Big dreams, to playing Football, to apple eating contest and bouncing in the Jumping Castle.
The program ended with the Kids showing off their talents during the “30 SECONDS OF FAME” show.

We thank our Daddy in heaven for making the day a success. It had been along journey. We stand firm and proclaim that the day was a blessing. Thanks to the Singles For Christ Volunteers and our ear Parents for allowing and trusting us with their kids. Until next time, it’s time to sleep and DREAM BIG! (Lawrence Njoroge, KFC Volunteer)

TRINITARIAN LOVE OF GOD – A WAY OF PUTTING OUR LIFE IN ORDER
The Sunday after Pentecost is known as Trinity Sunday. Most preachers find it difficult talking about the Triune God. The reality is so great and so mysterious, that we prefer not to tamper with the idea. Yet this is the most central aspect of our faith. Without it, our faith is nothing.
