"Fullness of Life In Christ" PDF Print E-mail

The International Council’s statement of Sept 2009 - We rejoice in sharing with you our theme for next year, 2010 - "Fullnes of Life in Christ" This theme is based on Colossians 2:6-7:"Since you have accepted Christ Jesus as LOrd, live in union with Him. Keep your roots deep on Him, build your lives on Him, and become stronger in your faith as you were taught. And be filled with thanksigiving."(Good News Bible version).

This theme calls us to experience more deeply the fullness of our life and mission in CFC which is anchored in our Lord Jesus Christ. Our twin mission of Building the Church of the Home and Building the Church of the Poor with Christ as its center is a wholistic and an integrated mission. We have and will continue to pursue both even more intensely because one is not complete without the other. Our mission is about Christ, family and the poor. It is pursuing both the spiritual and the social dimension of the Gospel. It is both the faith and expressing that faith into action. Pursuing one and not the other will not allow us to experience the fullness of life that Jesus has modeled for us and is offering us. In a way, our 2010 theme is a re-statement and a re-commitment of who we are as a community.

Our theme is also a renewed call for us to strengthen the basics of personal and community life - to live in union with Christ,  to keep our lives rooted in Him, to grow more strongly in our faith, and to be thankful for all that He has blessed us with and for what is still to come. It is a call that we, as a community, lovingly embrace for what greater joy is there than to be intimately connected with Him, living in union with Him and growing stronger with His grace.

As we approach the close of 2009, we trust that we have gained momentum in moving Forward In Christ, our theme for this year. As we continue our journey of moving forward in Christ, still mindful of our lifelong call to love one another, we wait with great expectation for the fullness of life that He promises us in 2010. May God bless us All!
